Pollution is one of the major dilemma the modern world is facing today. Our environment have suffered alot in the past few decades. Some people think that the solution to this problem lies in the hands of indviduals while others insist that the problem can only be overcomed by global efforts.We will have an arguemental debate on both these views and i will give my opinion in fourth paragraph. First of all, many efforts can be done on individual basis to protect the environment.
The domestic wastes can be properly disposed off, trees could be planted by people, use of private cars should be minimized to decrease air pollution.
Water pollution can be decreased if factory owners establish a proper method to detoxify wastes before dumping into rivers and lakes.
On the other hand, people believing in global efforts, are of the view, that unless and until the whole world plays a role to protect the environment, nothing can be done on individual basis. They think that awareness should be created on international level like the movement of "EARTH HOUR" organized by WWF.
As the developed countries have more resources than developing countries so combine efforts are needed to save the environment. However, i think efforts, on individual level as well as international level, is the need of the hour.
According to a survey conducted by University Of California, planting trees have increased about 10% in 2010 as compare to 2009, when compaigns were organised to emphasize the role of trees in protecting our environment.
To sum up, as it is said "A stitch in time saves nine" so it is the right time, we start taking this problem seriously and try every means to protect our environment before it is too late.
